Priyanka Chopra now in C’bazar to visit Rohingya camps

Bollywood sensation Priyanka Chopra has arrived in Bangladesh on a three-day visit to expose the plight of Rohingya refugee children as part of her role as UNICEF
Goodwill Ambassador. She reached Cox’s Bazar Airport at 12:40pm on Monday.
Priyanka shared the news of her visit to Rohingya refugee camps on twitter with a photo of her sitting by the window of an airplane. She wrote, “The world needs to care. We need to care.”
Cox’s Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Afruzul Haq Tutul said Priyanka visited a Rohingya refugee camp at Shamlapur in Teknaf in the afternoon.
Over a million Rohingya refugees were compelled to come to Bangladesh from neighboring Myanmar where they were subjected to terrible torture. A large number of the refugees are children.
They not only live in a decrepit condition, but also risking life from many diseases and deadly landslides as monsoon arrives.
Priyanka is staying at Royal Tulip Sea Pearl Beach Resort. She will visit more Rohingya camps in Teknaf and Ukhiya on May 22 and 23, said police ASP.
Priyanka will leave Bangladesh on May 24.
