An under-trial prisoner died at Sadar Hospital here on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Babar Ali, 67, son of late Abdur Rahman of Atahar Dighipara village in Sadar upazila and an accused in a case under the Narcotics Control Act 1990.
Abdur Rahim, jailer of Chapainawabganj Jail, said Babar complained of chest pain on Sunday evening.
He was immediately taken to the jail hospital from where he was shifted to Sadar Hospital.
Later, he succumbed to his ailment at the hospital at about 9:30 pm, the jailer added.
