An inmate died in Kashimpur High-Security Central Jail in Gazipur on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified Afaz Uddin (20), son of one Hossain Ali of Dakshin Dhanua area of Sripur Upazila of Gazipur.
According to Jail sources, Afaz fell ill in the Kashimpur central jail suddenly. At that time he rushed to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital. Later, the doctor made an examination and declared him dead around 10:30 am.
Nurunnabi Bhuiyan, Senior Jail Superintendent (Acting) of Kashimpur Central Jail-1, confirmed the matter to the media.
The body will be handed over to the relatives after legal proceedings, he said.
Earlier, two inmates died in Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur on Monday morning (Sep 5).
