A court here on Tuesday placed Mostafa Kamal, the suspected attacker on a prison van carrying Huji chief Mufti Hannan and some of his associates, on a five day remand in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Judge of Gazipur Judicial Magistrate Court-4 Mahbuba Akther passed
the order after police produced Mostafa, 22, hailing from Pagli village in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh, before the court seeking a 10-day remand, said court inspector Robiul Islam. Talking to reporters, officer-in-charge of Tongi Police Station Firoz Talukder said Mostafa, who had been involvement in the militant activities, went missing from his madrashah in Narsingdi a month ago. Police on Monday night filed a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act against Mostafa and 4-5 others. Two crude bombs were hurled at the prison van carrying Mufti Hannan on Monday afternoon while Mufti Hannan and his aides were being taken to Kashimpur jail from a Dhaka court.
