Textbook printing works for primary-level are set to begin next week. National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and Bangladesh Printing Industry Association (BPIA) have reached a consensus on Thursday to begin textbooks printing works between September 8 and 10.
NCTB Chairman Prof Narayan Chandra Pal said 22 printing companies were given work order for printing 10,87,40,011 textbooks for primary-level. Under the work order, 98 agreements will be signed with 22 printing companies.
BPIA President Shahid Serniabat said, “We will start printing works of the textbooks as soon as we get official permission of NCTB and we hope we will be able to finish textbooks printing works within scheduled time.”
The NCTB sources said 22 printing companies will be given Taka 221 crore for printing of nearly 11 crore textbooks at primary- level for the 2016 academic year.
