Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested nine persons, including the principal of a college for their involvement in advertising and selling fake question papers of public examinations from the capital’s Tejgaon area on Tuesday.
Joint-Commissioner (Detective Branches) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Abdul Baten disclosed the information in a press briefing at DMP’s Media and Public Relations Conference Hall on Tuesday.
Those who have been picked up are Principal of AM High School and College at Ashulia Md Mozaffar Hossain and teacher of that institution Atiqul Islam, Teacher of Kunia Coaching Center in Tongi Hamidur Rahman Tuhin, Teacher of Smrity Central School and College
Jahangir Alam, Office Assistant Abdul Majid, students of AM High School and College Arif Hossain Akash alias Adu Bhai, Saidur Rahman, Rakib Hossain and Tanvir Hossain.
Joint-Commissioner Abdul Baten said that the Principal of AM High School and College received the question papers from the Deputy Commissioner’s office of Dhaka. Later he sent the papers to his two colleagues through facebook, viber and whatsup for spreading it among the students and guardians. They took Tk 500 to 2000 from the students.
The Joint-Commissioner said, “We found three proves of question paper leakage. Several members of question papers preparing committee leaked questions. The question papers have been leaking from the press and on the way to the examination center.”
“Earlier, we have arrested a employee of the BG Press with documents. He received the question papers from Deputy Commissioner’s office and leaked it,” he said.
