Prime Bank Cricket Club thrashed Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by 127 runs in their Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at ULAB Cricket Ground in the city on Saturday.
Sent into bat first, Prime Bank piled up a mammoth total of 312 in 49.3 overs and then bundled out Mohammedan Sporting Club for a fragile 185 off 38.3 overs.
In-form opener Anamul Haque of Prime Bank Cricket Club hit a run-a-ball 94 with four sixes and nine fours. Anamul Haque was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Mohammad Mithun played a captain’s knock of 60. He cracked four fours and two sixes in his 74-ball innings.
Third-down Nasir Hossain made 38 from 40 balls featuring six fours.
Opener Shahadat Hossain scored 35 from 22 deliveries with six fours and a sixer.
Besides, Shamsur Rahman and Mahedi Hasan added 27 and 25 runs respectively to the Prime Bank total.
Soumya Sarkar of Mohammedan Sporting Club captured four wickets in the space of 54 runs, while Sohrawordi Shuvo and Musfik Hossain bagged two wickets each conceding 56 and 67 runs respectively.
Shuvagata Hom and Yeasin Arafat took one wicket apiece.
Later, Fourth-down Ariful Islam and second-down Mahmudullah Riyad were the two batters of Mohammedan Sporting Club who could make a respectable score.
Ariful Islam hit a fine 53. His 67-ball innings had five fours and a sixer.
Mahmudullah made 34 from 38 balls with five fours.
Rakibul Hasan of Prime Bank Cricket Club claimed four wickets instead of 40 runs, while Robiul Haque and Mahedi Hasan picked up two wickets each for 27 and 39 runs respectively.
Alok Kapali and Nasir Hossain took one wicket each.
