Prime Bank manage exciting 1-wicket win in Premier Cricket League

Prime Bank Cricket Club managed a nail-biting one-wicket victory over Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Tuesday at BKSP ground no. 3 in Savar.
Favored by coin, Doleshawar, rode on Marshall Ayub’s brilliant ton, amassed a challenging total of 286 for 5 from their stipulated 50 overs with.
Ayub played an impressive 128-ball off 135-run, an innings that contained 14 boundaries and two over boundaries and during the process he first shared 124-run third wicket stand with Fazle Mahmud (45) and then 132-run fourth wicket stand with Farhad Hossain (67 n.o) to take the team’s total
to a commanding position.
Monir Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Nahidul Islam and Yousuf Pathan shared one Doleshwar’s wicket each.
Chasing a winning target of 287 run set by Doleshwar, Prime Bank reached home for the loss of nine wickets with two balls to spare.
The two Prime Bank openers -Mehrab Hossain Jr. Mehedi Maruf – gave Prime Bank to a solid start contributing 147 run for the opening stand.
Mehrab composed 102 run off 125 ball laced with 13 boundaries before he fell to Farhad Reza while Mehedi Maruf supported him with a priceless 82 run off 90 ball that studded with six boundaries and three over boundaries before he was removed by Zohaib Khan.
Prime Bank suffered little wobble in the middle after the departure of two openers but Sajjadul Haque (51) and Delwar Hossain (8 n.o) ensured Prime Bank’s victory with one wicket in hand.
Mamun Hossain, Sharifullah and Arafat Sunny shared two Prime Bank’s wickets giving away 46, 47 and 51 runs respectively.
Marshal Ayub of Doleshawar was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
