Prime Bank Foundation recognises underprivileged merit

Prime Bank Foundation organizes Saturday an Award Giving Ceremony ‘Education Support Programmme’ for the underprivileged meritorious students at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Auditorium, Dhaka to handover the stipends.
Dr Atiur Rahman, Governor, Bangladesh Bank was the Chief Guest while Professor MQK Talukder, renowned educationalist, was also present at the programme as the special guest.
Azam J Chowdhury, Chairman, Prime Bank Limited presided over the ceremony. Md Nader Khan, Chairman, Prime Bank Foundation delivered the welcome address.
Directors-Nasim Anwar Hossain, Marina Yasmin Chowdhury and Md Shahadat Hossain were present.
This year a total of 372 students of the country will receive long term and renewable stipends @ Tk 2,400/- per month which will continue till the end of their studies. Students from all 64 districts of the country who are pursuing their graduation level studies are availing the benefit from this stipend. This stipend assists the poor but meritorious students in completing their studies successfully.
It is worth noting that under the ‘Education Support Program’ the Foundation awarded a total of 2,445 students including 170 students in 2007, 122 in 2008, 198 in 2009, 196 in 2010, 205 in 2011, 386 in 2012, 394 in 2013, 402 in 2014 and 372 students this year.
Apart from the commercial banking operation, Prime Bank Limited through its Foundation is simultaneously playing a pivotal role in the society as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities.
Prime Bank Foundation is providing long-term financial support to the underprivileged but meritorious students from different educational institutions (college & university levels) of the country through ‘Education Support Programme’ which started in 2007.
The most important factor of the stipend distribution programme is its impartial selection process. The advisors of the selection committee comprises of three of the country’s acknowledged educationalists whose discreet advices have been making it possible to select the most deserving students for stipends with highest neutrality.
