Prime Bank ease past Sheikh Jamal in DPL Super League

Prime Bank Cricket Club eased past Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited by eight wickets in their Super League match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground-4 in Savar on Sunday.
Chasing Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited’s total of 232 for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs, Prime Bank Cricket Club sailed home making 234 for the loss of two wickets when they had 58 balls to spare.
Anamul Haque and Tamim Iqbal of Prime Bank Cricket Club made a formidable start as the two openers put on together 121 runs in the opening stand before Anamul Haque was caught behind by wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan off Saif Hassan.
After Anamul’s dismissal, Tamim Iqbal and Shahadat Hossain contributed 53 runs for the second wicket partnership before Tamim Iqbal was stumped out by Nurul Hasan off Parvez Rasool when Prime Bank Cricket Club’s total was 174 for the loss of two wickets.
After Tamim’s departure, Shahadat Hossain and Mohammad Mithun guided their team to reach the victory target adding together 60 runs in the unbroken third wicket stand.
Tamim Iqbal hit a terrific 90. His 85-ball innings was studded with four sixes and 10 fours. Tamim was adjudged the Man of the Match for his superb batting display. Shahadat Hossain remained unbeaten with 52. His 55-ball knock saw five fours.
Anamul Haque notched up 52. His 66-ball innings had five fours and two sixes. Mohammad Mithun remained unbeaten with 31. His 36-ball innings was laced with two sixes and two fours.
Saif Hassan and Parvez Rasool of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited got one wicket each conceding 20 and 47 runs respectively.
Earlier, third-down Nurul Hasan hit a marvelous 71. His 105-ball innings was belted with nine fours.
Sixth-down Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit a polished 47. His 32-ball innings was ornamented with six fours and a sixer.
Number-7 batter Parvez Rasool made 37 from 48 balls featuring three fours and a six. Taijul Islam grabbed three wickets in the space of 42 runs, while Rakibul Hasan bagged two wickets at the cost of 35 runs.
Anamul Haque, Karim Janat and Shoriful Islam took one wicket each for 21, 51 and 56 runs respectively.
