Prime Bank Cricket Club earned a thrilling one-run win over Brothers Union in their match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground-4 in Savar on Wednesday.
Sent into bat first, Prime Bank piled up a satisfactory 273 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs and then all out Brothers Union for 272 off 49.4 overs.
Third-down Nasir Hossain of Prime Bank notched up a superb 66. His 77-ball innings was studded with three sixes and three fours.
Opener Shahadat Hossain hit a sparkle 64. He hit nine fours in his 66-ball knock.
Fourth-down Shamsur Rahman hit a marvelous 60. His 59-ball innings saw six fours and a sixer.
Abu Hider of Brothers Union captured four wickets in the space of 51 runs, while Sujon Hawlader bagged two wickets at the cost of 49 runs.
Mohammad Ashraful, Chaturanga de Silva and Raihanuddin took one wicket each conceding 23, 38 and 39 runs respectively.
Later, Rejaur Rahman Raja of Prime Bank played the key role in demolishing Brothers Union’s innings. He claimed five wickets giving 43 runs. Rejaur Rahman Raja was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning bowling performance.
Third-down Aminul Islam of Brothers Union hit a respectable 62. His 77-ball innings had four fours.
Six-down Sohag Gazi hammered a windy 54. His 21-ball knock had six sixes and two fours.
Number-7 batter Dhiman Ghosh hit a fine 51. His 73-ball innings was decorated with six fours.
Opener Imtiaz Hossain hit a polished 43. His 59-ball knock was belted with four fours and a sixer.
Nasir Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Alok Kapali, Rakibul Hasan and Rubel Hossain took one wicket each for 22, 24, 31, 53 and 75 runs respectively.
