Prime accused confesses to Magura schoolteacher murder

Masud Rana, the prime accused in the case for killing a schoolteacher in Police Line Paschim Para under Sadar upazila, on Monday confessed before a court to his involvement in the sensational incident.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Shalla Basu recorded the statement of Masud Rana, son of Golam Sarwar, a resident of the district town, under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, said Sub-inspector of Sadar police station and also investigation officer of the case Tariqul Islam.
Police arrested one of the accused Tuhin during the investigation of the case.
Following his information, police arrested Masud from Sadar upazila on Monday and produced him before the court. Masud confessed before the court that he was directly involved in the killing.
Ruhul Amin, 70, a schoolteacher, was hacked to death by his rival over a land-related dispute in Police Line Paschim Para under Sadar upazila early Thursday.
