The primary hearing of Mohammad Asharaful was finished on Wednesday. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) formed the tribunal. Ace cricketer Mohammad Ashraful has been banned for eight years as he was found guilty for match-fixing in the second edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Besides, Mohammad Ashraful was fined Tk ten lakh as he was involved in spot-fixing.
Mohammad Ashraful appealed to the tribunal to reconsider his punishment.
The second hearing will be held from September 8 to September 11.
Sri Lankan cricketer Kaushal Lokuarachchi, Managing Director of Dhaka Gladiators Shihab Chowdhury also appealed to the tribunal.
It may be mentioned that owner of Dhaka Gladiators Selim Chowdhury, former member of BCB and bowling coach of Dhaka Gladiators Mohammad Rafique, cricketers Mosharrof Hossain Rubel, Mehbubul Alam Robin and English cricket Darren Stevens were not found guilty of spot-fixing.
