Price of vegetables, green chilli high

The price of vegetables, green chilli has increased due to affect of flood while other commodities’ price remained unchanged at the end of Friday.
Prices of green chilli and difference vegetables has jumped by Tk 12 to 20 per kg on Friday as the supply of green vegetables have decreased after floods in 22 districts damaged crops, traders said.
However, brinjal was selling at Tk 45 to 60 per kg, teasel gourd at Tk 40, eddo was sold at Tk 40 to 50 per kg, clocacia stem (kochu loti) at Tk 40 to 60 per kg, clocacia flower at Tk 50 to 60 per kg, Potato price rose to Tk 28 to 30 (granola) per kg, while local (red coloured) variety price rose to Tk 35 to 40 per kg Tk 2 to 5 hike in a week. The tomato was selling at Tk 100 to 110, french at Tk 40 to 50, carrot at Tk 70, bitter gourd at Tk 40 to , cucumber at Tk 40 to 45, spone gourd at Tk 40 to 50, papaya at Tk 30, parble at Tk 40, snake gourd at Tk 40 to 50, okra at Tk 50, balsam apple at Tk70, raddish at Tk 40,
pumpkin (medium size) at Tk 35 to 45 per piece, broccoli at 40, bottle gourd at Tk 35 to 40, ash gourd at Tk 20 to 35 per piece, cabbase at Tk 30 cauliflower at 30 to 40 per piece, coriander leaves at Tk 300 per kg, green chilli at 70 to 80 kg, capsicum (red) at Tk 350 kg and capsicum (green) at Tk 300 to 320 per kg.
Local variety of Cat fish (Shing) was selling at Tk 400- 550 per kg, barbel at Tk 450 to 600 per kg, butter fish at Tk 300 to 350, lobster at Tk 400 to 600 kg, shrimp (River) at Tk 350-550 kg, Puti at Tk 180 per kg, puti (live) at Tk 250 kg, cultivated koi at Tk 130 to 180 per kg and koi (river) at Tk 400, Fali Chanda (Rupchada) at Tk 950 kg, Chanda (small) at Tk 200 kg, walking fish (Shoal) at Tk 300 kg and Eel at Tk 300 to 600 kg, sheat (boal) at Tk 300 to 550 kg, Ek-thota (Kaitta fish) at Tk 350 to Tk 400, Baila at Tk 450 to 600 kg, coral fish at Tk 550 kg, river Pangas at Tk 350 kg, cultivated Pangas at Tk 130 kg, Rajputi at Tk 300 kg, Tilapia at Tk 140 to Tk 200 kg, Ruhit at Tk 250 to Tk 380 kg, medium size carp (katol) at Tk 230 -360 per kg.
Sugar (white) was sold at Tk 70 to 76 per kg while sugar brown sold at Tk58 to 65. Imported garlic was selling at180 to 200 from Tk 140, local variety of garlic was selling at Tk120 to 140, and onion was sold at Tk 45 to 50 per kg. Local varieties of onion were sold at Tk 40-Tk 45, while imported verities at Tk 32-Tk 42 per kg.
The spice traders said, the price of all kind of spices has increased in the wholesale markets after claiming its price hiked in the global markets.
Ginger prices rose to Tk 90-Tk 120 (imported) and Tk 140-Tk150 (local) per kg at retail from Tk 70-Tk 80 and Tk 110-Tk 120 a week back.
Broiler chicken was selling at Tk 160-Tk 165 per kg, which was Tk170- Tk 175 last week. The beef was sold at Tk 400-Tk 450, buffalo meat at Tk 400 and goat meat (khashi) at Tk 550-Tk 600 per kg on Friday.
The egg price has jumped by Tk 2 to 5 per hali (four pieces). Egg (farm) was selling at Tk 35 per hali (four pieces), egg (local) at Tk 50 and egg (duck) at Tk 45 to Tk 48. Pigeon (per pair) was selling at Tk 180 to Tk 250 and four koil birds at Tk 200 only.
Five liters of Rupchanda brand canned soybean oil was selling at Tk 485, Rupchanda (two litres) at Tk 188, and loose super palm oil at 78 per liter, molasses at Tk 70 to 120 and flattened rice at Tk 70 to 90, the red lentil at Tk 140 per kg, while the imported lentil at Tk 155 kg and mash at 130 per kg.
The coarse rice has increased Tk 2 to 3 per kg. BR-28 was selling at Tk 35 to 36 per kg from Tk 32 to 34, Pyjam at Tk 40 to 42 kg, Nazirshail brand of rice at Tk 44 to 52 kg, Minicate at Tk 42 to 48 per kg, Kattari bhog at Tk 75, Pillau rice (Badsha bhog) at Tk 90 to 120 kg and Kalijira at Tk 115 to 130 kg only. Coarse flour was selling at Tk40 per kg and a 2-kg packet at Tk 75.
