The beef price remained unchanged in the city’s kitchen markets at the weekend on Friday, but fish price increased by Tk 40 to 60 per kg during the same period. On the other hand, prices of vegetables, local onion, potato, broiler chickens and date slightly fell with the increase of supply.
Prices of different varieties of brinjal were selling at Tk 35 to Tk 50 per kg on Friday. Teasel gourd was selling at Tk 40 per kg, potato at Tk 22 to 24 , tomato at Tk 40 to 55, green chilli at Tk 60 to 70, french at Tk 35 to 40, carrot at Tk 45 , bitter gourd at Tk 30 to Tk 35, cucumber at Tk 35 to 50, spone gourd at Tk 45 to 50, arum at 45 to 50, papaya at Tk 40, bottle gourd at Tk 30 to 40, ash gourd at Tk 15 to 30 per piece, coriander leaves at Tk 350, capsicum (red) at Tk 300 and capsicum (green) at Tk 250 to 300.
Of fishes, Cat fish (Shing) was selling at Tk 600- 750 per kg, barbel at Tk 700 to 900, butter fish at Tk 500 to 700, lobster at Tk 600 to 800, shrimp (River) at Tk 450-550, Puti at Tk 270 to 400, Kholisa at Tk 250, Chapila at Tk 400, cultivated koi at Tk 170 to 200, and koi (river) at Tk 600, Fali Chanda (Rupchada) at Tk 1100, Chanda (small) at Tk 200, walking fish (Shoal) at Tk 300 and Eel at Tk 400 to 600, sheat (boal) at Tk 350 to 800, Ek-thotta (Koitta fish) at Tk 350 to Tk 400, Baila at Tk 450 to 600, coral fish at Tk 550, river Pangas at Tk 350, cultivated Pangas at Tk 130, Rajputi at Tk 300, Tilapia at Tk 140 to Tk 200, Ruhit at Tk 250 to Tk 380 and medium size carp (katol) at Tk 230 -360.
The egg (farm) was selling at Tk 32 per hali (four pieces), egg (local) at Tk 50 and egg (duck) at Tk 45 to Tk 48. Pigeon (per pair) was selling at Tk 180 to Tk 250 and four koel birds at Tk 200 only.
Beef was selling at Tk 420 to Tk 450 per kilogram, red meat at Tk 500 to 550, broiler at Tk 160-170 and layer at Tk 190-Tk 210. The broiler and the layer prices decreased by Tk 10 to Tk 15 per kg respectively.
Five liters of Rupchanda brand canned soybean oil was selling at Tk 455, Rupchanda (two litres) at Tk 185, and loose super palm oil C
at 78 per liter, sugar price at Tk 58 to 65 per kg and molasses at Tk 70 to 120 and flattened rice at Tk 80 to 140 based on quality,
The red lentil was selling at Tk 135 per kg, while the imported lentil at Tk 155 and mash at 148, grass pea (Kheshari) at Tk 80-Tk 90.
Local onion was selling at 45 per kg, imported onion at Tk 34 to 40, local garlic at Tk130 to 140 and the Chinese varieties of garlic at Tk 180-Tk 210 per kg.
The coarse rice was selling at Tk 32 to 34 per kg, Pyjam at Tk 40 to 42, Nazirshail brand of rice at Tk 44 to 52, Minicate at Tk 44 to 50, Kattari Bhog at Tk 75, Pillau rice (Badsha Bhog) at Tk 90 to 120 and Kalijira at Tk 115 to 130. Coarse flour was selling at Tk 40 per kg and a 2-kg packet thereof at Tk 75.
Green mango was selling at Tk 30 to 120 per kg, mango Amropali (ripe) at Tk 80 to 100, apple at Tk 130 160, date of medium varieties at Tk 220-Tk 300 a week ago. The Marium variety of date was selling at Tk 800 per kg, pineapple at Tk 20 to 40 per piece, watermelon (small) at Tk 40 to 50 per piece and guava at Tk 80 120 per kg.
