Price of essentials mark rise

The price of lentil, garlic, sugar and molasses increased by Tk 5 to 25 per kg at the weekend on Friday. Vegetables, fishes and meat price have remained unchanged.
Of vegetables, potato (new) was selling at Tk 20 to 25 per kg, tomato Tk 25 to 30, bean at Tk 30 to 35, brinjal at Tk30 to 35, okra at Tk 50, green chilli at Tk 60 to 75, french at Tk 60 to 70, carrot at Tk 30 to 35 kg, bitter gourd at Tk 35 to Tk 40, cucumber at Tk 30 to 35, spone gourd at Tk 45 to 50, arum at 45 to 50, radish at Tk 25, papaya at Tk 25, snake gourd at Tk 30 to 35, pumpkin (medium size) at Tk 40 to 50 per piece, broccoli at 30 to 40, cauliflower at Tk 25 per piece, cabbage at 20 to 30, bottle gourd at Tk 40 to 50, ash gourd at Tk 25 to 30 per piece, coriander leaves at Tk 100 kg. Capsicum (red) at Tk 300 kg and capsicum (green) at Tk 250 to 300 kg.
Beef was selling at Tk 380 to 430 per kg and the red meat at Tk 550 to 600 in different kitchen markets in the city including Hatirpool, Karwan Bazar, Moghbazar, Segun Bagicha and Fakirerpool.
The egg (farm) was selling at Tk 35 per hali (4 pieces), egg (local) at Tk 50 and egg (duck) at Tk 46 to Tk 48. Pigeon per pair was selling at Tk180 to Tk 250 and four koil birds were selling at Tk 200 based on size. Broiler chicken was selling at Tk160 per kg from Tk 130. A medium size local cock was selling at Tk 380 to 500 per piece and hen at Tk 300 to 370.
Prices of all kinds of fishes and chicken have increased by Tk 10 to 20 per kg. Puti was selling at Tk 220 per kg, puti (live) at Tk 320 kg, Kholisa at Tk 250, Chapila at Tk 300, cultivated koi at Tk 200 to 220 per kg and koi river at Tk 400. Fali Chanda (Rupchanda) at Tk 1100 kg, Chanda small at Tk 200 kg, walking fish (Shoal) at Tk 300 kg, Eel at Tk 300 to 600 kg, Meni at Tk 250 kg, Sheat (boal) at Tk 350 to 800 kg, Ek-thota (Kaitta fish) at Tk 300 to Tk 500, Baila at Tk 400 to 600 kg, Coral Fish at Tk 550 kg, river Pangas at Tk 300 kg, cultivated Pangas at Tk 130 kg, Rajputi at Tk300 kg, Tilapia at Tk 140 to Tk 200 kg, Ruhit at Tk 250 to Tk 350 kg, medium size carp (katol) at Tk 230 -260 a kg, big size katol at Tk 300 kg, local variety of Cat fish (Shing) at Tk 400-500 a kg, barbel at Tk 700 kg, lobster at Tk 500 to 700 kg, and shrimp (River) at Tk 300-400 kg. Price of each
hilsha fish fell slightly per kg and was selling at Tk 700 to 800 at Karwan Bazar fish market on Friday.
The price of coarse variety of rice was selling at Tk 30-Tk 34 per kg over the week. The coarse variety of miniket rice was selling at Tk 45-Tk 48 a kg while fine variety of miniket was selling at Tk 50-Tk 54 per kg. The fine variety of BR-28 rice was selling at Tk 42-Tk 45 per kg and the coarse variety was selling at Tk 38-Tk 40 per kg on Friday.
Five liters of Rupchanda brand canned soybean oil was selling at Tk 492, loose super palm oil at 78 per liter, sugar price at Tk 42 to 45 per kg and molasses at Tk 70 to 120 and flattened rice at Tk 70 to 90.  
The local onion was selling at Tk 25 to 30 per kg, while the imported onion at Tk 26 to 28 per kg. Imported garlic is increased and it was selling at Tk 110 to 130 kg only, and local garlic at Tk 85 to 90 kg. Imported ginger was selling at Tk 80 to 90 per kg. The locally produced ginger was selling at Tk 70 to 75 kg based on quality.
The red lentil was selling at Tk 130 per kg while the imported item (coarse variety) was selling at Tk 115 kg over the week, mash at 150 per kg.
