The prices of some items like eggs, vegetables and chicken have increased, while some other items are stable. Price of one dozen of red egg was Tk 130, while duck egg Tk160 and local chicken egg Tk190.
The prices of almost all vegetables are stable in different kitchen markets of the capital, but the brinjal is sold at Tk80 per kilo.
The price of per kilo beef was sold at Tk 700 while the broiler chicken was sold at Tk170-180. The Sonali chicken was sold at Tk300-310, layer at Tk270-280 while one pair of pigeons Tk270-300 and beef at Tk 700 only.
Visiting different kitchen markets in the capital, one kilogram of brinjal was sold at Tk 80, Korola at Tk70-80, Kakrol at Tk 80, tomato tk 70, Borboti Tk60, Chichinga Tk60, Patol Tk60, cucumber Tk60-70, radish Tk50, Dundal Tk50, Jhinga Tk50, papaya Tk50, lady’s fingers Tk40 and red potato Tk30, China carrot Tk160, coriander leaf Tk120 and green chilies Tk140.
Each piece of gourd was sold at Tk50-60, cabbage Tk40 and pumkin Tk40 and four piece of green banana Tk40 while four pieces of lemons were sold Tk20. The sellers said that the supply of vegetables is not adequate due to flood, which has triggered the price of the vegetables.
The price of one kilogram potato was Tk 20-25 while onions were Tk40-45. The garlic price imported is between Tk150-160 while the local garlic is sold by Tk80-100 and the China ginger is sold by Tk90-100.
The sugar price was Tk80-85 per kilo while the packet sugar was Tk85-90. The lentil price was Tk130-140 per kilo, while the Indian lentil was sold by Tk110.
The price of packet flour is increased by Tk10 and the per kilogram of flour was sold by Tk48-50. The sellers said the price of flour has gone up due to short supply and the impact of Ukraine war. The red meat was sold at Tk900 per kg, which is out of the reach of the commoners.
