After abnormal price hike the broiler chicken and egg rate are showing down trend in capital kitchen market since Tk 30 decreased in per dozen eggs and Tk 20 per kg broiler.
Showing the cause of fuel price hike, the traders increased the price of broiler chicken and eggs abnormal as per dozen eggs were sold at Tk 155-160 and broiler at Tk 210.
Unusual price hike has impacted the demand of eggs as people bought less. After visiting a few capital kitchen markets it was seen that per dozen eggs is being sold at Tk 130-135 and broiler chicken at Tk 180.
Malibagh Hazipara egg trader Md Jahangir said that suddenly the price of egg increased. As a result a significant portion of people cut off the egg from their item list. Last two days the price of eggs is going low. It seems that it will continue.
Moreover, the price of Pakistani cock has also decreased as it is being sold at Tk 280-300 while one wek ago it was at Tk 300-320.
The scenario of vegetables market is that the prices of almost all vegetables have remained stable except carrot and tomato. Carrot is being sold at Tk 120-130 and Tomato at Tk 100-120.
In the vegetables market, the brinjal is being sold at Tk 50-60, cucarbitaceous at Tk 50-70, green papaya at Tk 30-40, parble at Tk 20-30 and ladies figure at Tk 40-50.
Few vegetables’ price has remained stable. They are spone gourd, snake gourd.
Besides, shrimp sells at Tk 600-650 only. The cat fish was selling at Tk 400 to 450 at Baganbari, South Goran on Friday, taki machh at Tk 350, Papda at Tk 400 and boal machh at Tk 600 only.
Furthermore, the availability of Hilsha fish in the market is greeted by the consumers. In the market one kg weight Hilsha fish is being sold at Tk 1,200 to Tk 1,300 whereas one week ago it was Tk 1, 400 to Tk 1, 600.
And 700-800 gram Hilsha is being sold at Tk 700-800 and 400-500 gram at Tk 450-500 while one week ago they were at Tk 900-1,000 and Tk 600-700 respectively.
