Newly- elected city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin reiterated his determination against the commodity price hikers and unscrupulous traders during coming Ramadan month and said govt will not spare anyone those try to enhance prices of the essential commodities.
He also sough cooperation of all concerned to keep stable of the commoditiy price. He disclosed it while addressing the meeting of views exchange at circuit house yesterday morning as Chief Guest.
District administration convened the meeting on ahead of holy Ramadan . City mayor said some unscrupulous traders try to increase the commodity prices with advantage of Ramadan through creating artifical crisis of certain items of commodities during Ramadan which will be dealt with seriously .
Deputy Commissioner Mesbahuddin said six monitoring team of the district administration will work in city to watch the prices of the commodities . President of Chittgong chamber of commerce Mahbubul Alam told that CCCI will form a coordination cell consists of 6 sub-teams to monitor the market prices. He said CCCI will set up 10 centres in important places of the city with mobile trucks for selling the essential commodities like sugar, rice, chola, lintels , oils with fair price.
Jagaron accords reception to Nasir : Women social welfare organisation Jagaron accorded a reception to Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin and ward councilor Md. Mobarak Ali at West Wolasahar Ward in the city at Amin Jute Mills football ground recently .
Chief Executive of Jagaron and Mahila Awami League leader Hosne Ara Parul handed over the crests to Mayor as Chief Guest of the function and the concerned councilor.
Moinuddin Khan Badal MP presided over the reception to the newly- elected mayor. Councilor Towfiq Ahmed Chowdhury, councilor Shaheed Iqbal Babu, councilor Kafill uddin Khan, councilor M. Ashraful Alam and councilor Morshed Alam attended the function as special guests.
Among others women leader Selina Begam, Nahida Begum, Nur Nahar Begum, Fouzi Akhter were also present in it.
The speakers in the reception function emphasized the need for unity of the women folk to reallise their legitimate demands, sources said.
