Stock markets plunged further on Tuesday due to mainly price fall in large-cap securities.
The falling major sectors were insurance, food and allied and textile. A total of 234 securities of the large-cap group moved down due to lower activities.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 81.93 points down at 5,623.64. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 17.57 points down at 1,333.19 and with 21.90 points down at 2,085.54.
The day’s trade value at DSE decreased to Taka 282.32 crore from Monday’s Taka 298.25 crore. But the daily trade rose to 8.68 crore shares from 8.17 crore shares of the previous session.
