Prestigious programming contest at DIU

Country’s largest and most prestigious Asia Regional Dhaka Site computing event Association for Computing Machineries – International Collegiate Programming Contest 2018 (ACM-ICPC 2018) Asia Regional Dhaka Site was held on Saturday at Shawadhinata Milonayoton of Daffodil International University (DIU) at its Ashulia permanent campus in Savar.
This is the biggest programming contest for the first time in Bangladesh hosted by DIU in association with ICT Division of Ministry of Post and Telecommunication and IT where 297 teams from more than 100 public and private universities took part.
Besides, one team from Nepal also took part in this event. Best two regional contest winners will get tickets to World Finals 2019 which will be hosted by University of Porto in Portugal from 31st March -April 05, 2019 to join the battle of the brain.  
Prof Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission Bangladesh (UGC) inaugurated ACM-ICPC 2018 Dhaka Site Event as chief guest.
National Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury was present as the guest of honor in the opening ceremony.
Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director, High-Tech Park Authority, Parthoprotim Deb, Executive Director, Bangladesh Computer Council, Daniel Duckeon Kim, COO and CEO, Samsang R&D Institute Bangladesh, Prof Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu, President, Bangladesh Computer Society were present as the special guests. Prof Dr Syed Akter Hossain, Regional Contest Director. Prof Dr M Kaikobad (BUET) as Chief Judge also spoke at the opening ceremony.
