Press council chairman meets journalists in Jessore

Justice Muhammad Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Press council exchanged views with journalists of print and electronic media in Jessore at Jessore Press Club on Monday.
In the views exchange meeting, the press council chairman discussed frankly about the ethics of journalism, laws and the present situation of journalism. In his speech, the press council chairman told that the journalists should be aware of negative and positive sides of their published news stories. ‘They must be alert about the ethics of journalism before covering any event,’ he added. He also informed journalists that the press council is more active now.
The meeting was attended among others by Shymal Chandra Karmaker, secretary, Bangladesh Press Institute, Akram Hossain Khan, member of the institute, Rezai Rabbi, additional DC( revenue), Jessore, ASM Kabir, senior information officer, Jessore, Jahurul Islam, assistant information officer and senior journalists -Mobinul Islam Mobin, Monotosh Basu, Farazi Ahmed Syeed Bulbul, Saifur Rahman Saif, M Ayub and Abdullah Hussain
