A press conference was held in Ishwardi to protest cheating in the name of giving jobs with cash on Saturday. The conference demanded exemplary punishment and intervention of the Prime Minister to get justice.
The press conference was organized by nine people including Roxana Khatun and Faisal Hossain, a victim’s wife, at Ishwardi Upazila Press Club. The victims including Roxana Khatun and Shahjahan Ali of Dashuria in Ishwardi, spoke at the press conference. The speakers alleged that Makleshur Rahman Mintu, son of Hashem Ali of Dakshin Para in Sheikhdari of Ishwardi, took Tk. 440,000 in cash on May 25 in the name of getting a job through an interpreter of Mumtaz Company, a contractor of Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant.
After that, even though it was a long time, he kept showing various excuses without giving a job. After realizing the fraud, the victims started threatening and intimidating Mintu with various threats and intimidation. That is why the victims have lodged a written complaint against Maklesur Rahman Mintu at Ishwardi police station on June 26.
