President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday visited Sajak ECB (Engineer Construction Battalion) camp at Rangamati district as he flew to Chittagong Hills Tracts (CHT) for a two-day visit.
On his arrival at Sajek by helicopter, the President was received by Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 24 Infantry Division Major General Sabbir Ahmed, President’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told BSS here over telephone.
After that President Abdul Hamid visited a local village named Ruilui para in the district to witness life style of ethic group, handicraft exhibition and kite-flying display. Head of the ethnic group explained different kinds of indigenous life style and culture of their group.
Later, the President arrived at scenic tourist spot Nilgiri at Bandarban by helicopter.
The President also enjoyed a cultural programme there, staged by different ethnic groups.
The President will return capital today.
