President urges Qatar to recruit more manpower from BD

President Abdul Hamid on Thursday urged Qatar to take more manpower from Bangladesh as this Arab nation needs huge skilled manpower for different development works, including infrastructures, for hosting the World Cup Football in 2022.
The President made the request when Ambassador of Qatar to Bangladesh Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Mohammad Al-Mana made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here, President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
“Bangladesh has huge skilled manpower to work in different development sectors, including infrastructures and Qatar can take its required manpower from Bangladesh for its huge development works ahead of the world cup football,” the President said.
Abdul Hamid said around 2.5 lakh Bangladeshis have been working in Qatar and they are playing an important role for the social and economic development of both Bangladesh and Qatar.
Mentioning that Bangladesh is interested to import Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Qatar, he said that final decision in this regard would be taken soon.
The President invited the Emir of Qatar to visit Bangladesh at a convenient time saying that the people of Bangladesh are eagerly waiting to receive him.
The President praised the role of the ambassador in improving bilateral relations between the two countries and hoped that the relations between the Muslim brotherly countries will further be strengthened.
Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Mohammad Al-Mana said Qatar would continue its cooperation for the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
