UNB, Kishoreganj :
Feeling ‘confined’ in tight security, President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday turned a bit nostalgic at his Kamalpur village home saying he wants to pass a few days here in a solitary environment.
“I used to roam through villages here alone when I had been here in the past, but now it’s not possible…I’m now under the blanket of tight security at Bangabhaban, so is here. Even then, I’m here, but it’s not possible to talk to people freely,” he said.
The President said this while exchanging greetings with the local people
at Muktijoddha Abdul Haque College after his arrival in the upazila from the capital on a three-day visit. “I want to stay here as I did in the past. I would have felt better had I been able to stay here for 10-15 days, but it’s not possible,” he added.
Later, Abdul Hamid inspected various development activities of the area. He first visited Tomiza Khatun Model Girls High School and exchanged greetings with the teachers and students of the school. President Hamid also laid the foundation stone of Girls Hostel there.
