President Md. Abdul Hamid will pay a four-day visit to India from December 18, said Foreign Minister A H Mahmood Ali here on Saturday.
The President will visit New Delhi from December 18 to December 21 at the invitation of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
The ministry organized the press conference to brief journalists on the outcome of Bangladesh’s participation in the recently concluded 18th SAARC Summit in Nepal.
Earlier on May last, the Indian President sent an official letter to Bangladesh’s President inviting him to visit India.
This would be the maiden visit of President Hamid to India after assuming office about two years back.
When asked about the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Bangladesh, the foreign minister said the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his bilateral talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the sidelines of the 18th SAARC summit in Nepal reiterated his interest to visit Bangladesh.
