President M Abdul Hamid will leave here for India tomorrow on a four-day visit to attend the founding ceremony of International Solar Alliance (ISA) in New Delhi.
“The President will join the founding ceremony of International Solar Alliance (ISA) at the Cultural Center of Presidential Building in New Delhi on March 11” President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
The Bangabhaban spokesman said this after Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla called on President Hamid at Bangabhaban here on Monday.
During the meeting, Shringla apprised the President of his India tour schedule while they also talked about mutual interests of the two countries.
“Before going to New Delhi, President Hamid will visit various places of the Indian state of Meghalaya, where he was staying during the 1971 Liberation War. The President will go to New Delhi from Meghalaya via Guwahati of Assam,” he added. The ISA has become the first treaty-based international and inter-governmental organisation to be headquartered in India. Its secretariat is located in Delhi’s neighbouring town of Gurgugram in the state of Haryana where a land of five acres has been allocated for it.
