President Md Abdul Hamid leaves Dhaka for Dubai on October 27 on a three-day official visit to attend the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum.
The President will visit Dubai at the invitation of Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, said Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali.
Briefing newsmen at his ministry today, he said the Bangladesh President will address the forum scheduled to be held in Dubai on October 28-30 as a key-note speaker.
The president’s joining the forum is a significant event that would brighten Bangladesh’s image in the Islamic world, the minister said.
“President by joining the forum would have the opportunity to exchange views and hold discussions with the leaders of UAE and others member states,” he added.
Heads of state and government of a number of countries including the Malaysian Prime Minister will join the forum, the foreign minister said.
The President is expected to return home on October 29 after concluding his three-day official visit to UAE. Foreign minister and high officials of Bangabhaban and the foreign ministry will accompany the President during his visit.
