President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday underscored the need for reducing the judicial backlog so that people can get quick justice.
The President said this when newly appointed Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban, President’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim told UNB after the meeting. During the meeting, the Chief Justice apprised the President of the judicial activities and said he is taking steps to reduce the country’ s case backlog.
Secretaries concerned to the President Office were present. On January 17, Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, popularly known as SK Sinha, took oath as the country’s 21st Chief Justice.
