President seeks more Norwegian investment

President Abdul Hamid has sought more investment from Norway saying Bangladesh offers lucrative incentives for foreign investors.
“Norwegian entrepreneurs can choose Bangladesh for their investment as the country is not only offering various incentives for them but also an investment friendly atmosphere,” the President said when Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh Merete Lundemo made a farewell call on him at Bangabhaban here this afternoon.
President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
Expressing satisfaction over the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Norway, President Hamid hoped that the relations would be strengthened further in future.
The President thanked the ambassador for completing her tenure successfully in Bangladesh.
During the meeting, Merete Lundemo highly appreciated the role of Bangladesh peacekeepers in UN peacekeeping missions.
She said a lot of changes have taken place in different sectors of Bangladesh including ICT, infrastructure and communication and expressed the hope that Bangladesh would continue to go ahead in future.
The ambassador also lauded Bangladesh’s art and culture and said Bangladesh is a culturally rich country.
