President seeks more Danish investment

President Abdul Hamid on Sunday urged Danish investors to invest in various sectors, including energy, shipbuilding and ICT, in Bangladesh.
The President made the call when Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Hanne Fugl Eskjaer made a farewell call on him at Bangabhaban. During the meeting, Abdul Hamid expressed satisfaction as the envoy successfully completed her assignment in Bangladesh saying the bilateral relations between the two countries have been extended significantly during her tenure. President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
Mentioning that Bangladesh’s diplomatic mission in Copenhagen started functioning in June 2015, Hanne Fugl Eskjaer said it will play an important role in developing relations between Denmark and Bangladesh.
The envoy praised Bangladesh’s role on the climate change issue. She also praised Bangladesh’s development and advancement in various sectors, and hoped that Bangladesh would move forward further in the future.
The Danish envoy expressed gratitude to the President, the government and the people of Bangladesh for their cooperation in discharging her duties properly. Secretaries concerned to the President office were present.
