President M Abdul Hamid, who is undergoing health check and treatment of eyes in London, will return home on July 19 instead of July 15.
“The President, who was scheduled to come back home on July 15, will now return to Dhaka on July 19 morning as additional time will require for some medical tests,” President’s Assistant Press Secretary Imranul Hasan quoted Press Secretary M Joynal Abedin as saying over phone from London on Saturday noon.
The 74-year old President has been suffering from Glaucoma since long. He used to have his health checkup in London while he was the Speaker in the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament).
Abdul Hamid is having his checkup at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London, the APS added.
Earlier, a VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited, the national flag carrier aircraft, carrying the President took off from Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport at 10:55 am on July 7.
