President M Abdul Hamid returned home on Tuesday morning after a health check-up at a hospital in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“A special VVIP aircraft (BG-148) of Bangladesh Biman Airlines, carrying the President and his entourage members, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 7.20am,” President’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told BSS.
Agriculture minister Dr Abdur Razzak, foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, cabinet secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, chiefs of the three services, prime minister office’s principal secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen and charge d’ affairs of the UAE Embassy in Dhaka Abdulla Ali Al-Hamoudi, and high civil and military officials concerned received the President at the VVIP Lounge of the airport.
Earlier, the head of the state left the country for Dubai on October 14 for health check-up and eye treatment. He underwent his check-up at American Hospital in the UAE.
The 76-year-old President Hamid has been suffering from glaucoma for long. He used to have his regular health check-up in London while he was the Speaker in the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament).
President’s spouse Rashida Khanam and secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban accompanied him during his overseas treatment.
