President returns home from KSA

President Abdul Hamid returned home on Sunday from Riyadh where he had been after the death of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
President Hamid went to Saudi Arabia on Saturday to convey sympathy on behalf of the people of Bangladesh to the royal family and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia following the King’s death.
A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the President and his entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5.10 pm.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, the dean of diplomatic corps, the cabinet secretary, the chiefs of the three services and other high civil and military officials received the President at the airport.
Earlier, on Saturday, the President Abdul Hamid along with heads of the states of different countries paid homage to late Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the Royal Protocol Court in Riyadh.
During the programme, the Bangladesh President exchanged pleasantries with new King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and congratulated him on his becoming the new king of the KSA.
Abdullah died on Friday at the age of 90.
