President returns home

President Abdul Hamid returned home on Monday wrapping up his four-day state visit to Bhutan at the invitation of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of the Himalayan state.
A flight of Druk Air carrying the President, his wife Rashida Khanam and his entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 3 pm.
Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, dean of diplomatic corps, cabinet secretary, chiefs of three services, principal secretary, inspector general of police, charge d’affaires of Bhutan and high civil and military officials received the President at the airport.
Earlier, President Hamid left the Himalayan state for Dhaka at 2 pm (Bhutan local time).
Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay and Bangladesh Ambassador to Bhutan Jishnu Roy Choudhury saw the President off at Paro International Airport.
During the visit, the Bangladesh President held meetings with the King of Bhutan and the former King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, father of the present Bhutanese King.
Bhutanese PM Tshering Tobgay, Speaker of National Assembly of Bhutan Lyonpo Jigme Zangpo and Chairman of National Council Sonam Kinga separately met President Hamid during the visit.
The President also delivered a speech at the joint session of the Bhutanese Parliament.
The King and the Prime Minister hosted separate dinners in honor of the Bangladesh President.
Abdul Hamid also visited the historically and culturally important places like Kuenselphodrang and Dochula.
The President went to Bhutan on July 1.
