President reaches London for treatment

President Abdul Hamid reached London on Sunday for treatment of his eye-problem and health checkup.
“The President was received by Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Md Abdul Hannan when the flight carrying him reached Heathrow Airport at 8.30pm Sunday (local time),” President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS over telephone.
President Hamid is scheduled to have eye treatment at Moorfield Eye Hospital and heart check up at Bupa Cromwell Hospital.
He is expected to return home on August 31.
The President left here for London on August 23. Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Dean of Diplomatic Corp in Dhaka and British High Commissioner Robert Gibson saw him off at the airport. Senior officials including chiefs of the armed forces were also present.
