Indonesia takes hard stance: Fishermen asked not to rescue boat migrants

Staff Reporter :The Indonesian government asked its country’s fishermen not to save the migrants who are now stranded on board the boats at sea struggling to survive. Fishermen in Indonesia’s Aceh province say they have been told by officials not to rescue migrants from boats off the coast, even if they are drowning, according to BBC online report. At least 700 Bangladeshis and Rohingyas from Myanmar were rescued off Aceh last week by locals, bringing the numbers in camps there...
