President M Abdul Hamid on Friday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the loss of lives and injuries to passengers in Jhalakathi launch fire.
In a condolence message, the head of the state prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
President Hamid also prayed for early recovery of the injured people.
Barguna-bound launch ‘MV Ovijan 10’ from Dhaka, with over 300 passengers onboard, caught fire in the Dapdapiya area of the Sugandha river in Jhalakathi around 3am on Friday, leaving many passengers dead and more than 70 injured.
