President M Abdul Hamid on Sunday expressed profound shock at death of country’s noted sculptor Syed Abdullah Khalid, who passed away at
city’s BIRDEM Hospital on Saturday night at the age of 75.
In a condolence message, the President conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Renowned sculptor Syed Abdullah Khalid was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2017.
Khalid is famous for his outstanding works, including Aparajeyo Bangla on Dhaka University campus, a monument of Liberation War of Bangladesh, the Terracotta Relief on socio-cultural heritage at the Bangladesh Bank head office and a 447 sft. mural of Abahaman Bangla at the Bangladesh Television Centre.
