President Abdul Hamid on Saturday expressed deep shock at the death of former US President George HW Bush senior.
In a message of condolence, Abdul Hamid said: “On behalf of the Bangladesh people, I convey all my condolences to the American nation for the loss of former President George Bush Sr. Our sympathy to his family and beloved ones.”
George HW Bush served as the 41st U.S. president from 1989 to 1993.
He died on Friday in Houston at the age of 94.

Another report adds: President M Abdul Hamid on Saturday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Advocate Mahbubul Haque, husband of Parliament Member Dilara Begum Asma of Kishoreganj (reserved seat).
In a condolence message, the head of the state prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
A close political associate of President Hamid, Advocate Mahbubul died of a stroke at his Akhra Bazar residence in Kishoreganj town at about 4:30 am on Saturday. He was 73.
