Bangladesh Journalist Association Manikganj District Unit was formed on Saturday.
After the general meeting, the election commission declared the names of the newly elected committee members.
Manabendra Chakrobarty President, Shahjahan Biswasgeneral Secretary. The office- bearers are-Vice Presidents Abus Bashar Abbasyand Kabul Uddin Khan joint secretary-BM Khorshed, Assistant secretary-Monirul Islam Mihir and Ramproshad Sarker Dipu, Organizing Secretary-Jalal Uddin Viku, Treasurer-Sazidur Rahman Rasel, and Office Secretary -Akram Hossain.
Earlier, the general meeting was held at the Manikganj Press Club Auditorium. Manikganj district unit president Motiur Rahman presided over the meeting while its former general secretary of the central committee Kalyan Saha Ratan was the Chief Guest and joint secretary Golam Sarowar Sanu inaugurated. Its central committee’s treasurer Biplob Charkrabarty and executive member Zahangir Alam Biswas were the special guests. Convener of Dhaka Swadhinata Sangabadik Forum Borun Bhoumik and Prothom Alo’s Staff Reporter Arup Roy were also present.
