US President Donald Trump on Friday ousted two star witnesses only two days after his acquittal in impeachment trial in the Senate for telling the inside story of abusing power by the President during the hearing in the House of Representatives of the US Congress.
Army Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindmana, a decorated veteran and top Ukraine specialist at the White House’s National Security Council (NSC), was almost physically ejected from the White House. And only two hours later, ambassador Gordon Sondland was also fired as US ambassador to the European Union. “Vindman was asked to leave for telling the truth,” said his lawyer. And then Sondland was fired apparently as a vindictive reprisal from a highly repulsive Donald Trump although he can’t humiliate or mishandle public officers on personal ground.
The President’s action clearly violated the rule of law and disregard for American constitutional process. To be a government official, it does mean he has to be unpatriotic! His loyalty to the President should be above his loyalty to the country’s Constitution given by the people?
If for telling the truth in the best interest of saving the country’s democratic process is punishable then the whole system of government is under attack. American people should do something unitedly, no matter who belongs to which political party. The issue is saving democracy and saving America’s greatness.
These two officers are heroes in the cause of the constitutional process. And punishing them is un-American.
President’s recalling of senior US ambassador Ms Yuvanovitch from Kiev was clearly victimisation for her honesty in serving the people and exposing what is disgraceful in seeking foreign interference with America’s presidential election.

Reports said he removed her to clear the way of bringing pressure on Zelnskeyi to entertain President’s personal requests. Vindman’s twin brother Yevgeny – a lawyer at the NSC — was also escorted out of the White House on that occasion in yet another demeaning act. It was also disrespect to the Congress and the Constitution.
White House witnesses were asked to make deposition what they know about the President’s misuse of power and made public critical document and e-mails linked to the cover up of the abuse of power. Some did it braving the situation, others were blocked.
The world expected to be respectful to the high position he holds as the President of the USA. Upholding democratic values is what makes great.
Trump’s arrogance of power is leading to destroying American values. He has no concern for democratic institutions to function properly.
President Trump has not learned the lesson that America’s democracy is a model for democracy world over. It is bad for America and bad for democratic world too to find America like dictator.
Trump’s acquittal has freed him from charges for impeachment because of highly divisive party politics. The Republican did not want to lose their President. Actually, there was no trial. The trial was obstructed by the Republican Party’s partisan politics. So, there is no glory to be boasted.
His lack of knowledge in diplomacy has isolated him and frustrated American allies. American influence worldwide is a matter of great anxiety now. He is unpredictable about changes essential for peace and living together with other countries.
His anti-Muslim policy has again been confirmed by his love for Israeli prime minister Netanyahu, known as butcher of Palestinians. Netanyahu’s aggression on Palestinian state is getting support from President Trump.
Now Netanyahu is leading President Trump for getting a solution of Palestinian crisis. That is enough to show his poor sense of diplomacy. He understands business deals. But America is not a country of business deals.
We say it sadly that President Trump is a threat for peace, and terribly un-American.
We are not against President Trump. We want to see him as great President suitable for a noble country. But he does not show signs of giving up coarseness of his style.
