President M Abdul Hamid on Sunday hosted an Iftar party for alem-ulema (Islamic scholars), freedom fighters, family members of Birshresthas, orphans, and Bangabhaban officials and employees.
Before the Iftar, the president exchanged pleasantries with the guests and enquired about their well-being at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban.
Earlier, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country. Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jame Mosque Maulana M Saiful Kabir conducted the munajat.
Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, a good number of war-wounded freedom fighters, country’s eminent Islamic scholars, orphans from different child homes, and officials and employees of the Bangabhaban attended the Iftar party.
