Underscoring the need for ensuring loans for entrepreneurs on easy conditions, President Abdul Hamid said borrowers should consider with importance the timely repayment of loans.
“Banks, financial institutions and investment organizations will have to come forward so that entrepreneurs can get credits on easy conditions and at the same time borrowers should consider with importance the timely repayment of loans,” the President said while addressing the distribution ceremony of “President’s Award for Industrial Development-2014” here.
A total of 12 industries received the award for the setting up of industries in private sector, production and job-creation. President Hamid handed over the awards to the recipients.
In his speech, the President urged the private entrepreneurs to work along with the government to attract foreign investment to harness the potentials of the blue-economy for welfare of the country and people.
“Bangladesh now owns a vast sea area enriched with marine resources such as fish, oil and natural gas that have created excellent scope for foreign investment. I think foreign direct investment will be increased in this sector if the private entrepreneurs along with the industries ministry take up effective initiative in this regard.”
He said expansion of the private sector is essential for achieving the expected target of industrialization and the country’s industrialization will be speeded up when the private sector will be strengthened.
