President for ensuring time-befitting world standard education

President M Abdul Hamid on Wednesday asked authorities concerned to ensure time-befitting world standard education reviewing the ‘academic curriculum” of global esteemed universities.
“Make the learners perfect human beings imbued with the spirit of patriotism, moral values and skillful in world-standard education and information technology,” the President said while addressing the 3rd convocation of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) here.
If the universities fail to ensure quality education on the respective campuses, the President said, it would not succeed to cope with competitive world as per the demand of time.
President Hamid, also the Chancellor of the university, stressed the need for increasing the use of the information technology at all levels of education.
He hoped that the fresh engineers would properly utilize their creative thoughts as well as technologies and play an active role in building a “Digital Bangladesh” in line with the “Vision 2021” declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Terming the engineering education as a very important one to build the nation, the President said the engineering and technology-based education can turn mass people into manpower.
“Engineers in their thoughts and spirits should be farsighted. They have to develop their knowledge and efficiency according to international standard for facing the challenges of new technologies,” the President suggested.
Referring to the negative uses of the technologies, specially mobile phone, and its adverse impact on personal, family and social lives, the President also asked the graduates to be aware of using the modern technologies as the blessing of technology can bring positive changes in the society.
Congratulating the new graduates on the occasion of the convocation, Abdul Hamid advised the graduates to devote themselves to the task of nation-building along with their professional activities.
He hoped that they (students) would help ensure progress of the nation and country with services, honesty, devotion and patriotism through applying their respective potentialities.
The President also advised the graduates not to bow down their head to injustice and untruth as well as not to destroy their respects and morality for their personal interest.
