BSS, Dhaka :
President M Abdul Hamid asked the newly-commissioned officers of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) to develop their professional skills through the proper practice and application of the basic trainings they have received.
“Remain ready for all time to develop your professional skills through the proper practice and application of the basic trainings you have received from the academy,” he said this on Wednesday while addressing the President Parade of Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA) at the academy’s parade ground in Jashore.
The head of the state asked the BAF members to perform their responsibilities with utmost honesty, sincerity and integrity.
He said BAF members will have to stay always ready for playing a role in any need of the country alongside safeguarding its (country) independence and sovereignty.
“I hope that you would never backtrack from the oath that you took to keep free Bangladesh’s air space, being imbued with the spirit of true patriotism as well as remaining respectful to the holy constitution,” he said.
Expressing his firm optimism that BAF would turn into a most modern air force soon, the President said the incumbent government took various pragmatic steps to modernize the air force and making it more time-befitting.
“We inducted the fifth generation fighter planes, high-powered air defence RADAR into the air force and modern war weapons with a view to enhancing the capability of the force,” he said.
Referring to the “Forces Goal-2030” in the light of the Defence Policy of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the President hoped that it (policy) would strengthen the air force.
