State Minister for LGRD Cooperatives Ministry Moshiur Rahman Ranga said the present government is continuing all out cooperation for the development of country’s sports.
He was speaking as chief guest during the inauguration ceremony of three-day AKM Shamsuzzoha Smrity National Athletic competition on Thursday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Bangladesh Athletic Federation (BAF) president ASM Ali Kabir, general secretary Ibrahim Chengis and sports orgainser Tanver Ahmed, were among others, present on the occasion.
The State Minister said regular sports exercise brings physical and mental serenity. Besides the study he also suggested the new generation to make them capable in sports.
He said to the participants that the way Bangladesh achieved reputation in World cricket, success must be archived in World athletic in the same way.
Later, the State Minister enjoyed different events of the competition and distributed prizes among the winners.
Athletes from different districts and institutions from across the country are taking part in the 36 events of the meet.
