To observe the ‘Amar Ekushey February and International Mother Language Day’ smoothly and peacefully, a preparatory meeting was held on Monday at Dhaka University (DU) with its Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair.
The meeting, took place at the Nawab Nobab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, was attended by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (administration) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Treasurer Professor Dr Kamal Uddin, deans of different faculties, provosts of the halls, chairmen of various departments, directors of different institutes, representatives of teachers, leaders of officials, additional secretary of cultural ministry Md Masiur Rahman and joint secretary Md Fayzur Rahman Faruque.
Dean of the Earth and Environmental Sciences faculty also President of DU Teachers’ Association (DUTA) Professor Dr ASM Maksud Kamal was made coordinator while DUTA Vice-President Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam and General Secretary Professor Dr Rahmat Ullah were made joint coordinator to the Central Coordination Committee to observe the programmes of the Ekushey February in a befitting manner.
Proctor of the university Professor Dr AM Amzad will act as member-secretary of the committee.
Besides, 11 sub-committees were also formed in this regard, a press release said.
