Preparations are nearing to completion for peaceful holding of Durga Puja, the five day long greatest religious festival of the Bengali Hindu community in the district.
The Puja festival will began on September 26 and end on September 30 through immersion of Idols in different natural open water-bodies .
Artists and idol makers are now passing their busy times for making idols of the Goddes Durga in all the ten upazilas of the district.
Vice President of district Krishak League Kashob Ranjan Sarker said that number of 46 Puja mandaps would be set up in the district town while a total of 455 Puja mandaps in all the ten upazilas of the district.
This correspondent while visiting different puja mandaps in the district town today saw for himself that artists were now busy colouring the images of the deities to make those idols very colorful and atractive to the visitors and worshipers.
Netrakona police administration has already designed fool-proof security arrangement for smooth holding of Durga Puja across the district, police sources said.
